How should I store my Légère reed when I’m not playing?Updated 2 months ago

Proper storage protects the reed’s shape and tip. We recommend keeping the reed in a flat case when not on the mouthpiece. Every Légère single reed comes with a plastic reed case – you can use that for storage.

Ensure the reed is dry (you can wipe it off) and then place it flat side down in the case or use a dedicated reed holder that keeps the reed flat. Avoid leaving the reed on the mouthpiece in your instrument case, as that can expose the tip to damage or pressure from other items. Also, do not store the reed in direct sunlight or extreme temperatures (for instance, don’t leave it on a car dashboard on a hot day). The goal is to keep the reed flat and safe from any physical harm. With these considerations, Légère reeds are very easy to store – there’s no need for humidifiers or special containers like you might use for cane reeds.
