After playing, rinse or wipe the reed clean and pat it dry. Then place the reed flat side down in the case into the clamps, with the tip aligned to the designated area so it’s not catching on the edges. You may need to use some slight force to snap the reed in place. Gently close the case, ensuring the reed stays in position as it shuts. It’s ventilated enough that if the reed is slightly moist, it will dry out (though drying isn’t as critical for synthetics, it prevents any mildew or odors over very long storage). Always use this case or another flat storage method to transport your reed – sticking the reed in a cloth or loose in a pocket could lead to a warped or damaged tip.
