Can I leave the reed on the mouthpiece between practice sessions?Updated 2 months ago
While it won’t harm the synthetic material to leave it on, it’s recommended to remove the reed after each day’s use. Removing and storing the reed properly ensures the tip isn’t accidentally damaged by a knock to the mouthpiece or cap. If you leave the reed on the mouthpiece, make sure to put a mouthpiece cap on to protect it. But as good practice (and to allow you to rinse the reed), it’s better to take it off, clean it, and put it in its case. This also lets the mouthpiece dry and stay clean. Remember: one big perk of Légère reeds is quick setup – since no moistening is needed, taking the reed on and off is very easy and doesn’t add playing time delays.
